Stitch & Style : Quilted Sweatshirt

Take your quilting beyond the quilt and into your wardrobe! In this fun and creative class, you'll transform a basic sweatshirt into a one-of-a-kind wearable by deconstructing the garment, creating patchwork fabric for the sleeves and pocket, and quilting those patchwork sections directly to the sweatshirt pieces.

You'll learn how to safely take apart the sweatshirt, design and piece patchwork panels, quilt them to the sweatshirt components for added texture and stability, and then reassemble the sweatshirt into a cozy, stylish finished garment. This class is a wonderful way to use favorite fabrics, showcase your quilting skills, and create a unique piece you'll love to wear. Basic sewing machine skills are recommended.

1 sweatshirt (one size larger than your normal size)
Fabric blocks, scraps, jelly roll strips, charm pack pieces, or coordinating fabrics sufficient to cover sleeve and pocket sections
Polyester thread to match sweatshirt
Sewing machine with zigzag stitch capability
Serger (optional)
Basic sewing supplies:
Seam ripper
Pins or clips
Fabric scissors
Iron and ironing surface
Measuring tools
